При спробі налаштувати встановлений у СуСЕ 9.2 на 2.6.8 кернелі VMware, при запуску vmware-config.pl видаються отакі повідомлення:

(оскільки ці C header files знаходилися саме у /usr/include, то я й вказав відповідний шлях до них)

directory, you probably do not have the kernel-source package installed. Are you
sure that /usr/include contains the header files associated with your running

The directory of kernel headers (version 2.6.8.1) does not match your running
kernel (version 2.6.8-24-default). Even if the module were to compile
successfully, it would not load into the running kernel.

Що воно таке і як з цим боротися?

Далі, іще одне.
При інсталляції Дебіан Сардж не можу встановити бажаний режим 1024х768. При налаштуванні Х-в вказав:
- відеокарта - mga
- налаштування монітора - були спроби зробити це через simple, medium, advansed шлохи налаштування: вказував просто 17-дюйм, і вказував режим 1024х768_85Гц (у "медіум"), і вручну вводив мараметри горизонт. й вертикальної частоти - 30-73, 85-100.
Всі вищевказані операції нічого не давали.
Воно просто кидає 85 Гц на 800х600, і не більше.
Які є варіанти розв'язання цієї проблеми?
