Проблема з NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8174-pkg1

Після встановлення Linux Slackware 11 , встановлення kernel-generic, source,modules,headers 2.6.17.13 і , настройки xorg.conf рішив поставити драйвер nvidia.
NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8174-pkg1.run
Встановлення драйвера запустилось нормально, потім почав лаятися "no precompiled kernel interfece" ось і все.
На linux.org.ua/docs встановлення драйвера nvidia для Slackware 11 ненайшов, тільки встановлення на SUSE.

Якщо я вірно пам'ятаю, то там треба відповісти "No" та продовжити встановлення. Воно лається на відсутність в себе вже зібраних модулів для наявного ядра і пропонує сходити за ними у інет.

так я і нажав "yes" воно доходить десь до 86%, а потім знову викидує "no precompiled kernel interfece" і кидає на /var/log/nvidia... :-/
Чи воно так і має бути, дойти до 86 відсотків, і знову викинути no precompiled kernel interface, а насправді драйвер встановлено і лишилось його тільки відконфігурувати?

Колись і у мене були такі проблеми. Що робити — не пам'ятаю, бо давно було. Тим більше, що є дистри, в яких драйвер від nvidia або інтегрований, або інтегровані його завантаження та автоматичне встановлення. Напр., таким є SuSE, для якого на nvidia.com окрема тека з драйверами.

Але я пішов на риск, поставив в xorg.conf
driver="nv"  
зберіг,перезагрузив комп.
Запускаю xfce, включаю xine і рубаю 2 гіговий фільм, який сильно глючив до того як я поставив nvidia драйер, показує нормально, без глюків, звук йде нормально. (а до того такі страшні глюки були, і xine лаявся про відсутні драйверів, GL ).
Можливо драйвер працює неправильно, або просто глюк вийшов при завершенні інсталяції драйвера... :-?

Здається, того рана треба запускати з опціями -aN -щоб не випендрювався, а ще краще - перед установкою розпакувати його в якусь директорію здається, опція --tar xvf - вже забув - яйого аж цього  понеділка інсталив   .
Там ще іноді в ксорзі треба шляхи прописати, якщо само дрова знайти не хоче - мені і таке довелось зробити.
А якщо якісь питання виникають - запускайте sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8174-pkg1.run -A | less - іноді допомагає.

У мене колись стояла Slackware 11.0 кернел 2.4.33. Ставив собі також драйвера для N-VIDIA.
По-перше: яка у вас відеокарта. Бо у мене був GF4MX440 так на нього ставилися тільки NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-8774-pkg1. Для FX5200 вже ставив 9746 без проблем.
Спочатку воно лізло на сайт, а потім все самотужки збирало.

Здається, в вас просто драйвер якийсь кривий: не бачить власних заголовкових файлів чи шо?
